On Wednesday, November 5th at the Namao Community Hall, we will be hosting a Ghana Night! And so, if you've been listening to us for the past year go on and on about this trip or if you just found out about it a week ago, you are more than welcome to come on down at 6pm to enjoy a dinner of pulled pork and coleslaw (it's our favourite hall dinner haha) before listening to our presentation (it should last about an hour!) that will be complete with tons of pictures and videos that we took. Topics to be covered will include:
+why I will be forever grateful for the person who was smart enough to put a flashlight app on an iPhone
+what it was like for Kiri to work a night shift at Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital
+how to kill spiders the size of your face/crazy centipede-scorpion things that crawl into the house when it rains
+what it was like to gift hundreds of IV cannulas to a ward that was down to its last dozen
+why tro-tros are death traps on wheels
+how to speak a basic Fante phrase courtesy of Kiri :)
+how Ghana changed our lives
Due to the fact that we're hosting the dinner before the presenation, we'd ask that anyone who is interested in coming please RSVP to us by November 1st. You can give either of us a call, comment on this post, or send an email to [email protected]. Plus, since Kiri loves baking so much we will know how many cookies to make everyone for dessert! We would also request that you bring a $5 donation as we are taking up a collection to send to the hospital that hosted us there as they are desperately short on supplies.
On a final note, we would like to once again say a huge, massive thank you to everyone who supported us in our journey to Ghana and everyone who still looks at this site daily! We are constantly confused/impressed on how this website continues to get so many hits every day but we'd like to say thank you to everyone who still reads it!
Hope to see you there :)
